Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were anticipating further attacks.
